Following a macrobiotic lifestyle requires that we make changes

1) Changes to the way we eat
2) Changes to the way we conduct ourselves
3) Changes in aptitude

All around us, everything is in perpetual motion.  Nothing remains the same.  When we become too rigid, we avoid change.  In order to change, we have to become flexible. This will make it easy for us to learn new skills and cultivate new habits.  It is a matter of the will united with discipline that gives us the power to try new things for a period of time until it becomes second nature.

For a quick change it is always best to start with the food we eat, and as we change our diet, the chemistry of our body changes.  After a while we start to see improvements in our health, and subsequently our outward direction starts to shift.
As we concentrate on creating new positive habits, the old negativity will drop off, and it is like reprogramming our computer…some of the old data is no longer needed, and it doesn’t show up any more.
Food is the foundation of our health.  One’s diet also alters the mind and emotions. Everything has an effect on our being, though it may be on a subtle level.
All that we do through the day affects our energy and balance.  A change on any aspect or portion of our body has an effect on everything else, including the world and the universe.

What is wonderful about macrobiotics is that it is not only a diet – it is a whole system of living – a healthy lifestyle which will automatically bring positive results to anybody’s life.

Nothing lasts forever: day turns into night, night into day. Activity is followed by rest, rest by activity. Success follows failure and failure follows success. What has a beginning also has an end.
